Do you need an account to use FreeConference’s online meeting room?

If you are strictly joining an existing FreeConference online meetings as a participant, then a FreeConference account is not required. If someone invites you to their meetings, you can simply click on the invite link and join an online meeting room as a participant without creating an account. You will, however, be required to enter a temporary name before you can join the meeting.

Yet, you will need to sign up for an account if you want to create your own online meetings and send invitations to other participants. Signing up for an account on FreeConference is easy, and if you already have an existing Google Account on your device, you can use the Google Account to sign up, meaning it's just one click away.

How much does online meeting software cost?

FreeConference offers a free plan for up to 100 audio participants (dialing in from a phone) and up to 5 web participants (joining using the online link) . The Starter plan costs $9.99/month for up to 100 audio participants and 15 web participants, as well as extra features like audio recording and meeting summary capabilities.

You can join a FreeConference online meeting room by simply clicking on a meeting link or by clicking here and entering the access code as provided by your invitee.

Can I use a Bluetooth headset during a FreeConference meeting?

Do I need to have a webcam to join an online meeting?

No, you can join a FreeConference meeting without a webcam. You can still listen and speak during the meeting (provided you have a connected or built-in microphone), share your screen, and view videos of other participants without a webcam.

However, without a webcam, you will not be able to transmit a video of yourself.

How do I schedule a free online meeting?

You can easily schedule a free online meeting in your web browser. Sign up or log in to your FreeConference account in your browser; then, on your account's dashboard, you can either choose to "Start a meeting" or "Schedule a meeting" to set up a meeting room for later. There's also an option to "Meet by Phone" if you want to start a voice-only meeting.

How do I invite others to join my online meeting?

You can invite others to join your free meeting room by copying the meeting's URL from your browser or the access code. You may also send meeting invitations via email straight from the FreeConference's interface.

My video camera isn't working.
  1. Troubleshooting tips for camera-related issues during an online virtual meeting:
  2. Make sure that all other applications that use the camera are not currently using the camera (close them if necessary).
  3. Restart your computer.
  4. You may need to update your camera's driver. Visit your device's (or camera's) support page:

For mobile users;


  • Try to start your video by tapping "Video" on the bottom of your screen, and switch between the front camera and back camera to check whether any one of them is working.
  • Check if any other applications are already using the camera, and close these applications if needed.
  • Check whether your phone's browser has permissions for the camera.
    • (For Android):
      • open Settings and tap on Applications
      • tap on your browser, then tap Permissions
      • If it does not list access to take pictures and videos (or Camera), tap the option and change the permission from Deny to Allow
    • (For iOS)
      • open Settings, and go to Privacy
      • tap Camera
      • toggle your browser's access to green (on)
    • Restart your device if necessary
My audio isn't working.

Troubleshooting audio issues for virtual meeting software:

  • Ensure your speaker is turned on
  • Ensure the microphone is not on mute. The host may have muted you upon entering the meeting, and you may need to ask the host to be unmuted.
  • Ensure FreeConference has access to your device's microphone:
    • iOS: Go to Settings > Privacy > Microphone and switch on the toggle.
    • Android: Go to Settings > Apps & notifications > App permissions or Permission Manager > Microphone and switch on the toggle.
  • Try using earphones with a built-in microphone.
  • Restart your device if necessary

VIA PHONE: If you’re meeting using the phone be sure to call in as Moderator by using your Moderator PIN instead of the Access Code (this can be found on your account home page, or also in the ‘Settings’ section under ‘Moderator PIN’).

VIA WEB: If you’re holding a call via the internet, the recording button is located within the Menu at the top of your Online Meeting Room. To start or pause a recording – simply click on ‘RECORD’ in the menu at the top of the screen.

An MP3 audio file download link and Telephone Playback information for audio recordings are included in your detailed call summary email. All call recordings can also be found in the ‘Recordings’ section of your account via the ‘Menu’. You can also access and listen to your recordings at any time when viewing “Past Conferences”.

Online meeting or video recordings, will similarly be available as an MP4 download in email summaries and also within your account under ‘Recordings’ or ‘Past Conferences’.

File Sharing or Document sharing allows you to instantly send and receive documents during a conference call.

Our document sharing app actually works within the Text Chat in your call window. Just click the three dots to open the menu and select the paperclip icon in the bottom right corner to upload a file from your computer. You can also simply drag and drop a file into the Online Meeting Room to share with all participants.

Document sharing with your account is private and secure. You can manage who is on your meeting and control access to document sharing. Shared files can be added or deleted during a live call or once it is completed.

Additionally, the Online Meeting Room, where you can share documents, works via WebRTC. WebRTC is a secure protocol. It uses both Datagram Transport Layer Security (DTLS) and Secure Real-time Transport Protocol (SRTP) to encrypt data. Chat messages are also sent via HTTPS, a secure protocol.
